Decosimo is hosting a complimentary, hour long seminar to address an often overlooked area--the Research and Development Tax Credit. The session will be held in Chattanooga, Tennessee on August 24, 2010 from 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. in suite 216 of the Tallan Financial Center. The seminar is free and includes breakfast and validated parking. Attendees qualify for 1 hour CPE credit.
The seminar will be of particular interest to those who design, develop, or improve products, processes, techniques, formulas, inventions or software. Alliant Group presenter, Kevin Corley, will discuss the regulations that allow eligible taxpayers to review all open tax years (often the past 3 years plus the current year) to identify possible R&D credits. Corley says, "The R&D Tax Credit can provide, among other things, a hidden and immediate source of cash for many companies as well as a significant reduction to current and future years' federal and state tax liabilities." Corley points out that recent changes to the tax code enable more industries to qualify for this credit especially those who invest time, money, and resources in the advancement and improvement of their products and processes. Immediately following the morning session, Alliant and Decosimo will be available to meet individually with companies to address specific questions.
