Campaign Academy

Have you ever thought about running for an elected position such as City Councilman, County Commissioner or State Legislator? Have you ever thought about helping to organize an election campaign?  If you answered YES to either of these questions, then the Chamber invites you to attend the Annual Campaign Academy.

This is an informative session that will answer questions on registering your campaign, crafting your campaign message, where you should be seen to meet the voters, the use of social media, or any other questions you may have to prepare to run for the May 22nd primary election. Election qualifying begins March 5 to 9.  Guest speakers (Lynn Laughter, Mike Babb, and Gary Crews) will share the experiences that they gained when they ran for office.  They will also share how they became involved in the community and why they decided to run for office.  Past Campaign Academy panelists have talked about their passion and commitment to public service and the willingness to serve the public so that they can try to make a difference in their community.  There is no charge to attend, we just ask that you contact Phyllis Stephens at 706-712-0951 or stephens@daltonchamber.org to reserve your seat.
