The Whitfield-Murray Historical Society will sponsor a genealogy workshop on Jan 12, Jan 26, and Feb 9 at the Crown Gardens History Center, 715 Chattanooga Avenue in Dalton, Georgia. Sarah Roach and Jean Drew, both DAR genealogists, will conduct the workshops. The worshop schedule for January 12: 9-12:30, Organizing you Records (beginning level); 1-4:30 Finding Census and Other Records on the Computer (beginning/intermediate level). Schedufle for January 26: 9-12:30, Walking Back on the paper Trail (intermediate level) 1-4:30 Finding Women Ancestors, Beginning Cherokee Genealogy Research, and rigor of Proof for Lineage Societties (all levels). The cost is $35 for one workshop, $40 for a full day, or $70 for two full days. Sack lunches are available for $6.00. In February, the Brick Walls in Genealogical Research workshop is for intermediate/advanced researchers. Bring a problem with yhou; it is OK to bring laptops, too. This workshop is Saturday, February 9 from 9 am to 4:30 pm. The cost is $40 for the entire day and has a limit of 10 people.
